The June festival window and the Saturday nights of the Madeira International Fireworks Contest, with the one point where the official sources do not agree with each other stated plainly.
Dates on this page are the announced ones for 2027 and 2028, and every one is shown with its year. That is deliberate: the commonest error online is a day-and-month line copied forward from a previous edition.
Programme detail on this page last read July 27, 2026.
Through June, Funchal pairs a music programme with pyromusical displays over the bay on Saturday nights. The displays are a competition: pyrotechnic companies are scored by a jury and by public vote. Each one fills the seafront and every viewpoint above it, so a Saturday night in June is a different city from a Tuesday.

Announced dates
One block per announced year. The window is the whole festival; the lines under it are the individual events the calendar names.
What the dates do not tell you, from official pages rather than from us. Anything that could not be attributed was left out.
The displays are pyromusical, roughly twenty minutes each, launched along the bay of Funchal — so the seafront and the viewpoints above it are the viewing area.
The two official sources do not agree on how many nights are scored. The calendar lists four Saturdays; the event page describes three pyromusical shows on the first three Saturdays. All four Saturdays are shown here, because all four are crowded nights on the seafront whether or not they are judged.
